The World's Largest Gathering of Biplanes
Aircraft Arrivals

The BIPLANE EXPO 2008 at BVO, June 5-7, 2008, will generate a large volume of air traffic, with peak arrival traffic occurring Friday through Saturday noon. Peak departures will be on Sunday. The following procedures are established to enhance safety and minimize arrival and departure delays.

NOTAM
Consult NOTAMs for information. The airport is not scheduled to be closed at any time.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
All arriving aircraft should monitor BVO CTAF 120.0 at least 15 miles out for arrival and traffic information. Pilots should exercise extreme caution due to the large number of airplanes operating in the vicinity of Bartlesville. Straight-in and base leg entries will not be permitted during periods of heavy traffic. After landing, taxi off the runway as soon as possible due to aircraft landing behind you. Follow instructions of ground personnel for parking.

“NO RADIO” ARRIVALS
Aircraft without radios will be accepted in the following manner.
1. The FAA operated control tower will operate Frank Phillips Airfield as a controlled airport on Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The controlled hours on Sunday, June 8, will be from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 10:00 a.m.
ARRIVALS PRIOR TO OR AFTER THESE HOURS CAN BE NO RADIO ARRIVALS.
2. Arrival of aircraft without radio equipment can be done in conjunction with a radio equipped aircraft as a flight of two, or three, or more.
3. Arrival of aircraft without radio equipment can be accepted
provided the pilot calls the control tower at (918) 350-0079 and makes arrangements with the controllers that are acceptable to the parties.
Hand-held radios are an effective communication instrument for the non-electrical aircraft.
The Expo staff urges attendance by all aircraft whether radio equipped or not, however, FAR’s must be followed by all aircraft for safety purposes.

AIRCRAFT PARKING
Follow instructions of ground personnel to the designated parking area.

TIEDOWNS
All airplanes must be tied down. You are asked to bring your own tiedowns and chocks. There will be a limited number of tiedowns for rent at Phillips Aviation Services.
